Terminal Ductal Lobular Units (TDLU) are the functional unit of the mammary gland, where the milk is made and from where most tumors originate. I demonstrate the size of the TDLUs and 3D model examples to demonstrate their attributes.

A Clump of Tree-like Breast Lobes 1.3

In this clip I compare the configuration of the breast lobes to a tightly planted clump of trees. The example I use is a magnificent clump of trees on the beach in the Beaches Toronto. You can enter in between the 16 or so tree trunks and look up as if you were standing at the nipple looking up the major ducts of each lobe to the lobules, like the leaves high above your head.
